Catching Up

Hey everyone!

It has been a busy month. We got off tour and immediately went into production of our new DC show - JONAS. It is so exciting! We have completed 4-5 episodes already and they are going great. We can't wait for you to see it. We are not sure when it will start airing but we are all really proud to work with the people in the show.

We are also releasing a All Access Book from the Burning Up Tour. We picked out all the pictures and shared a lot of stuff that we hope touches our fans.

In February we will be releasing our first movie in 3D. The movie is from this summer's tour and covers a lot of the things did this summer and places that we visited. We just had our first screening and all we can say about the movie is...

Really wish we could see you all again on tour but we will be back on tour next summer.

Movie Debut

Pop group the Jonas Brothers will make their feature film debut in a new family comedy, which may be directed by 'There's Something About Mary' directors Bobby and Peter Farrelly.

Variety reports that 'Walter the Farting Dog' is based on the best-selling series of books by William Kotzwinkle and Glenn Murray.

The film will also star Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas' younger brother Frankie.

The brothers will play musicians who are asked to care for the titular dog by an aunt before she dies.

I'm not so sure how well this will go over. 

The Princes of Bel Air

The boys just recently moved out of there Toluca Lake home to a $6 million home in Bel Air.

It has 4 bedrooms in the main house and 3 bedrooms in the guest house with a pool.

"Jonas Brothers’ A Little Bit Longer tops the 1 million mark in sales this week, as it inches up from #16 to #15. The album took just 10 weeks to top the million mark. The trio’s eponymous sophomore album took 29 weeks to reach the milestone. As of this week, Jonas Brothers has sold 1,637,000 copies. “Burnin’ Up,” the biggest hit from A Little Bit Longer, has sold 1,210,000 downloads. That’s more than “S.O.S.,” the biggest hit from Jonas Brothers, which has sold 1,180,000 downloads."

The Jonas Brothers' video for "Lovebug" is a predictably adorable affair, with the band soundtracking the war-ruptured romance between two people who are old enough to be grandparents of the band's target demographic. Prediction: At least one indie band will half-ironically cover this song during CMJ this week, although they'll probably cut out the electrified ending in favor of preserving the first three minutes' airy sweetness.

2009 Houston Rodeo

The Jonas Brothers and Taylor Swift will be among the headlining acts at the 2009 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, officials announced Monday.
“This is just the beginning of an exciting year of superstars at RodeoHouston,” said Skip Wagner, president of the show. “Amazing entertainers plus an action-packed Super Series rodeo equal an exciting, family-fun opportunity.”

Rascal Flatts and Brad Paisley will also perform this year, among 16 other yet-to-be-named artists.
Rascal Flatts are slated to perform on Tuesday, March 3. The Jonas Brothers will play Sunday, March 8. Brad Paisley’s show will be Thursday, March 12, and Taylor Swift will be featured on Friday, March 20.

Rodeo officials said the best way to catch the superstar performances is to purchase season tickets, which are on sale now.
Season tickets start as low as $312.
Fans can also purchase mini-season tickets, which include nine of the 20 slated performances.
Mini-season tickets will go on sale Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 8:30 a.m.

In the current issue of Rolling Stone, Elvis Costello superfan Nick Jonas sits down with his idol to talk about writing habits and handling fame. “As far as fans go: The only difficult thing is when they go in our house,” says Jonas. “That’s kind of odd for anybody, I think.” Costello sympathizes, as he spent his early days as a pop sensation. “Around 1978, every single we released in England was a hit,” he says. “It was hard to take seriously when it was happening, because I just thought it was so absurd. I was suspicious of the success.” Check out the new issue for more on Costello and Jonas, including what pop records they’ve loved in the last ten years.

EUROPE WAS AMAZING!!!

Hey everyone!

I know we are writing a lot tonight but we wanted to let you know about our trip this week to Europe.

We were asked to take our week off from the TV show to go to Europe to promote the new CD. It was amazing to see fans in other countries.

Our first stop was Milan, Italy. They had a special MTV TRL on Sunday for us. We were excited because Milan was a great stop on the Avril Lavigne tour. We were not prepared for the response. There were 20,000 people in the Plaza waiting for us and people lining the streets leading to MTV. It was crazy. Everyone had signs. Some of the signs were on huge bed sheets with pictures and drawings. Italy made us feel so welcome.

The next stop was Madrid, Spain. Last summer we had to cancel our concert in Spain because of the truckers strike. We did a signing in one of the main shopping areas. The crowd as so big and excited. They had to shut it down twice to call in extra security. We finally had to leave because the crowd was so intense. The Spanish fans made us feel so encouraged.

Then we went to Germany. As always the people were amazing. There were people outside of every venue and TV show. We always love Germany but this time we felt even more loved.

Next stop London. The UK is an amazing place and the first thing we had to do was go to our favorite French restaurant. Once again, there were people outside of every radio station, TV show, etc. It amazes us how much people go through to show us their support. Thanks

Last stop was Paris, France. We only did promotional stuff in Paris. The fans were awesome and followed us everywhere. The French fans are so passionate.

We can't wait to get back to Europe again.

THEN we flew home and stopped in Phoenix, Arizona to do music for a figure skating special. The fans made us feel so loved. Thanks for all the love.

Cowboys Game

The popular pop group the Jonas Brothers will be the featured halftime entertainment during the Cowboys Thanksgiving Day game against Seattle at Texas Stadium.

Kickoff is 3:15 p.m.

The Jerry Jones family has dedicated the Cowboys annual Thanksgiving Day halftime show as a national showcase to kick off The Salvation Army's annual Kettle Drive.

The Jonas Brothers are going retro in their new, '40s-themed video for "Lovebug."
"We had a very specific vision," Kevin told the Disney Channel, which will premiere the video on Oct. 19 at 8:55 p.m. (on both the East and West coasts). "You're part of a world that you wish you could be a part of and that's not around any more."
The clip, directed by Philip Andelman, depicts a love story between a woman and a soldier who's being shipped off to war. It stars 10,000 BC's Camilla Belle – much to the brothers' delight!
"We saw her in that [movie] and, to be honest, we all fell in love with her," said Nick. "We said why not have in her a music video?"
The Camp Rock stars play multiple characters – including members of a ballroom band – in the video, which culminates in a sweeping dance number.
On the 19th, the Disney Channel will also air a behind-the-scenes look at the making of "Lovebug" during episodes of Hannah Montana and Wizards of Waverly Place.

2nd Las Vegas Show

MGM announced Monday it has added a second performance of pop rock band the Jonas Brothers because of fan demand.

The second performance will be at 3 p.m. Nov. 29 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, according to MGM spokeswoman Stephanie Heller.

Tickets priced at $89.25, $65 and $45, not including service charges, go on sale at 12 p.m. Oct. 11 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena box office and at all Las Vegas Ticketmaster locations (select Smith’s Food and Drug Centers and Macy’s West at the Fashion Show Mall). Ticket sales are limited to eight per person. Tickets can also be purchased by calling 702-474-4000 or online at MGM Grand or at Ticketmaster, Heller said.

Wristband distribution will be held from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. Oct. 11. A random number will then be drawn and a lineup will be in sequential order, beginning with the random number selected. Individuals must be 16 years of age to receive a wristband, and wristband guidelines will be provided at the sale site. A wristband does not guarantee that a ticket can be purchased, Heller said.

The Jonas Brothers are gonna be performing on the AMA's again this year!

Funnyman Jimmy Kimmel is slated to host the American Music Awards once again.

This year’s awards show will take place Nov. 23 in Los Angeles, and air live on ABC.

While he’s no stranger to hosting, Kimmel’s return will offer a whole new crop of jokes to spice up the show. The comedian has hosted the AMAs four times before.

The Jonas Brothers and Pink are scheduled to perform during the live show as well.

Orly Adelson, president of Dick Clark Productions, told the AP that Jimmy is a “masterful host with incredible spontaneity and wit; audiences can expect a great night.”

“I agree with Orly completely,” Kimmel playfully responded.

Hello all-
Since my last blog, we performed at the VMAs, wrapped up our tour, filmed another video and rented out Dodgers Stadium for a little bit of fun. Speaking of Dodgers Stadium, it is also the home of the November 1st JDRF Walk where I will be with TEAM JONAS. Hope you had a chance to enter the W.I.N.S Sweepstakes, I can't wait to see who is going to win and represent the team. Bayer and I thought this would be a great way to raise awareness regarding diabetes and diabetes care. As you know this is an important time of the year for diabetes as we all work hard to raise awareness and money for more research to find the cure. What better way to kick off National Diabetes Month than to be out there supporting the cause.
Production of our new Disney TV Show began this week, it is a pretty hectic schedule but I have to tell you it is nice to be sleeping in my own bed for more than one night here and there. The show is going to be taping thru the end of year, I wish I could say that was the only thing I am going to be doing, but you know better than that. JB has a lot of surprises planned for you before the end of the year.
It was great to see so many of you out on the road, I hope all of you had as great of a summer as I did.

Year of the Jonas

The Jonas Brother receive a lot of condemnation, which is very harsh considering just how far the brothers have come in such a very short time. 2008 is shaping up to be the Year of the Jonas Brothers, despite the fact some haters might not like it.

Let's look at what Kevin, 20, Joe, 19, and Nick, 16, have done so far this year. 

The Jonas Brothers:

      • Won 6 Teen Choice Awards
      • Sold out their "Burning Up" tour
      • Became the youngest group ever to appear on the cover of Rolling Stone

That won't stop folks from labeling them impostors to the world of rock'n'roll or questioning the legitimacy of their fan base. But if the JoBros keep on doing what they've been doing, they might end up owning the next decade in music. 

The band has hardcore fans because they make music people like and they relate to fans in a way that is very rare. Since the most important part of the music business is "business", treating your growing fan base right cannot be the wrong thing to do.

It's time to hail the Jonas Brothers for the impressive job they've done in 2008.

What’s it like to finally be home?
Kevin: We’re blown away we actually have time to hang out and do things. We’re trying to figure out what friends we can see.

Joe: I joined a gym, which is really exciting.

Nick: I’m enjoying spending time with my dog [Elvis]. He’s a golden retriever and 17 weeks old. I got him for my birthday from my family. And I’m getting my license next week. I have the wheels already: a ‘68 Mustang GT, black with a white racing stripe.

What about the motorcycle you just got for your birthday, Joe?
Joe: I haven’t been driving it. I have to get my motocycle license. But once I get it, you’re going to see my motorcycle all over LA.

You just sang for Stevie Wonder.
Kevin: It was crazy. My dad was freaking out.
Nick: We were asked to sing “Happy Birthday” and be at his son’s birthday party.

Any other pinch-me moments?
Joe: Meeting Barack Obabam’s wife and kids.
Nick: Meeting Britney [Spears]. It’s been an amazing time in our lives.

Prank on Demi

I don't think I ever posted the boys prank on Demi.

Love Bug Video debut

The track — like a lot of the JoBros' songs — is about puppy love, but this time the brothers are going acoustic. They also found inspiration from an unlikely source — the soundtrack to a movie about a sassy, pregnant teenage girl.

"The vision for the song actually came from some different inspirations," Nick added. "But 'Juno' was one of our favorite movies at the time, and the soundtrack is always kind of odd, so we decided to put those elements in the song, and it came very nicely."

That soundtrack might have helped shape the song, but Nick also had another major songwriting influence: "I think there are a lot of things we draw from, but that song in particular is a Beatles influence."

Although no names were mentioned when asked just who the song might be about, Joe did say that the lyrics' meaning is really open to the listener's interpretation. "It can mean anything," he said. "But for us, it's throwing any past inhibitions to the wind."

"Really, just falling in love with somebody," Nick added. "And [how] if they break your heart — or however it ends — you think, 'That's it forever,' until the lovebug gets you [again]."

The group hopes to release the Philip Andelman-directed video by October 15.

New Single & UK Trip Next Week

Jonas Brothers have announced they'll release a brand new single 'Love Bug' on Nov 17 and the really exciting news is that they are coming to the UK next week to tell us all about it!!! 

First up they'll be live on the Paul O'Grady Show (Ch4) on Wed Oct 8 before launching into a ton of interviews as well as recording performances for 'Sound', E4 and a whole heap of stuff for MTV. We'll have lots more details as things move along but for now the big news is JB ARE COMING TO THE UK for three whole days and we are LOVING IT!!!
