HOLLYWOOD -- The Jonas Brothers will kick off Disney's five-picture deal with Imax. "The Jonas Brothers: The 3-D Concert Experience" will unspool on Imax screens for one week beginning Feb. 27. Release is timed with the wide rollout of the pic in traditional theaters. When the deal was announced last November, Robert Zemeckis' 3-D holiday entry"A Christmas Carol" was expected to be the first pic the two companies would release under the new deal. Imax said the addition of the Jonas Brothers pic to its release sked was possible because of the rollout of the company's digital projection system into more theaters. It now operates 320 theaters in 42 countries. Before the Imax pact, the Mouse House chose to play its digital 3-D titles in conventional theaters only. The Jonas Brothers pic is helmed by Bruce Hendricks, who directed the "Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour" feature that performed well in theaters last year, earning a surprising $65 million during a limited release. Rockumentary blends excerpts from the Brothers' "Burning Up" concert tour that include guest performances from Demi Lovato and Taylor Swift.
